Summary

Coordinate activities of EMP Advanced Products within the Accounting Department to ensure that accurate and timely financial information is prepared.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for EMP Advanced Products include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and upload monthly financial forecasts and actual financial results into COGNOS.
  • Assist department heads with analysis to help drive business performance, cost control and develop KPI’s.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and upload into COGNOS.
  • Preparation of monthly Business Unit Review presentation & provided analysis on monthly financial results.
  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements as determined by Corporate Finance.
  • Act as check signer and control all wire transfers.
  • Prepare and analyze various reports for financial year end closing.
  • Prepare required schedules and oversee annual financial audit.
  • Ensure that Federal and state corporate income taxes and state sales, use, and various other taxes are paid on a timely basis including coordinating with independent accounting services when required.
  • Prepare for and oversee audits with independent accounting firm, banks, state and federal tax authorities, government grantor agencies, and worker’s compensation.
  • Prepare and compile various journals and miscellaneous entries for input to General Ledger.
  • Complete month-end closing process timely.
  • Daily review of Bank activity and report weekly cash flow position to Corporate Finance.
  • Assist A/P Supervisor with review of project balances.
  • Ensure all government required surveys are completed on a timely basis.
  • Review all payroll-related general ledger entries.
  • Review Accounts Payable invoices as deemed necessary.
  • Review and provide financial reporting on customer and internal Research & Development projects.
  • Assist with grant reporting to Government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Corporate Delegation of Authority manual.
  • Complete any special projects as needed by the SVP, CEO, CFO or Corporate Finance.
  • Maintain QAD costing and pricing elements as necessary.
  • Review and approval of customer credit limits and credit holds.
  • Maintain internal control structure as determined by Corporate Finance and coordinate internal control activities with Corporate Internal Audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the CFO.
