Manufacturing: Escanaba, MI
1st Shift

SUMMARY

Supports the development of new products through design, analysis, and creation of electrical hardware.  Continual support of existing products by analyzing end of life components, substitutes, and customer returns.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, verify and debug complex hardware modules for electronic motor controllers and actuators
  • Development of hardware systems from the concept phase to final production
  • Experience in board level design, including both digital and analog
  • Experience in supporting board layout and fabrication using PCAD/Altium
  • Experience in the use of P-SPICE for circuit simulation is required
  • Experience in EMI/EMC design requirements
  • Experience with design of high switching currents typical in BLDC controllers
  • Experience with performing timing analysis of high-speed designs
  • Create functional and technical design specifications for hardware designs
  • Experience in the use of electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, function generators, etc.)
  • Problem solving and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Interface with team members and customers regarding technical matters
  • Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, design proposals, and project timelines to customers and management
  • Provide technical support to department projects through design, analysis, and test support
  • Specify and participate in testing/validating hardware
  • Actively participate in RMA root cause analysis
  • Mentor other engineers and technicians
  • Uses engineering principals to solve problems
  • Use DFMEA techniques

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science in an Electrical Engineering or Technology field; and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
