Summary

Responsible for overseeing general human resources activities and providing day-to-day point of contact support for the businesses in Greenfield and Muncie Indiana. Must be persuasive in dealing with employees concerning sensitive matters. Able to become a “confidant” to employees about work-related concerns. Support the HR function and other departments with advice as requested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Regional HR Manager, US in managing company benefit programs, working with employees, insurance companies and providers as appropriate.
  • Administer and manage workers’ compensation for both sites by filing claims and working closely with insurance carrier until closed.
  • Implement HR policies and programs.
  • Post open positions with multiple sources as well as attend career fairs. Work with the Plant Directors to determine recruiting sources as necessary.
  • Participate in labor related meetings.
  • Manage site annual open enrollment process.
  • Oversee New Hire Onboarding process for both sites.
  • Maintain all official, confidential, personnel, benefits, and medical related files.
  • Answer HR related questions.
  • Coordinate and perform exit interviews.
  • Support safety programs.
  • Manage and implement HR events and projects.
  • Administer and manage medical leaves including FMLA and short-term disability.
  • Consult with other managers to identify problems and develop plans to resolve benefit and employee relations issues.
  • Investigation of employee relations issues.
  • Provide an HR presence and provide guidance during recruitment activities and the interview process.
  • Manage the performance evaluation process at both sites.
  • Assist in position evaluation procedure and determine appropriate pay ranges including position evaluations, determination of pay range and FLSA status.
  • Act as an advisor to management concerning corporate policy, employment laws and best practices concerning employee relations matters.
  • Other project work as required by the local site or broader group.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or Graduate degree in Human Resources or Business Management or PHR/SPHR certification preferred and 7 or more years of experience in Human Resources.
