12 or 24 VDC Brushless MotorBrushless, permanent magnet motors are combined with EMP designed motor control electronics to provide a high efficiency, long life pump. Brushless motors have no contacting parts to wear and reduce life. Features include locked rotor protection, over temperature protection, over current protection, over voltage protection and reverse battery protection.
Rugged DesignThe WP29 / WP32 pump features die cast aluminum castings for strength, durability and improved heat transfer from the motor and electronics. This allows the WP29 / WP32 to provide continuous, high output coolant flow and pressure in extreme temperature conditions. The integral shaft water pump bearing and mechanical water seal technologies are field proven with years of service on engine driven pumps.
Advanced Diagnostic CapabilityThe WP29 / WP32 pump software contains diagnostic capabilities to tell the user whether or not the pump needs service. The diagnostics can assess whether the pump is in protection mode (voltage, temperature, over current, locked rotor, etc) or if the pump is damaged and needs to be replaced. This status is communicated via SAE J1939 CAN for monitoring by the vehicle.
Lab Tested Under Severe ConditionsEMP Pumps are validated to withstand all field conditions including thermal cycles, salt spray, pressure wash, thermal shock, vibration and shock, electrical transients, ESD, reverse battery and more. Durability testing has surpassed 20,000 hours of continuous operation.
Field Proven Long LifeEMP has been producing brushless water pumps since 2006. Pumps have achieved in excess of 30,000 hours of life in demanding continuous applications.
Temperature InputsWP29 / WP32 models are available that read external thermistors and can operate based on this temperature or can broadcast this temperature via SAE J1939 CAN to the vehicle.
Variable SpeedEMP pumps can be run at any speed between the programmed minimum and maximum speed to minimize power consumption. Variable speed also allows for accurate control of coolant flow and temperature optimization in cooling systems.
Service Tool AvailableEMP pumps can be controlled manually using EMPower Connect™ Service Tool. The software in the pumps can be changed or upgraded in the field using this tool. History data can be downloaded and includes hours of operation, temperature data, voltage data, calibration information and diagnostic fault codes.
Sealed and Fully SubmersibleEMP pumps are sealed and fully submersible for long life operation when exposed to the elements. Pumps are validated to withstand submersion and direct pressure wash.
