Using SAE J1939-15 CAN, pumps can be operated anywhere between the pre-configured minimum and maximum speeds. This allows the user to optimize speed to minimize power consumption or change speed to optimize the performance of the overall system. It can also operate as a single speed ON/OFF pump that delivers continuous output set by the customer requirements.
EMP pumps are sealed and fully submersible for long life operation when exposed to the elements. Pumps are validated to withstand submersion and direct pressure wash.
EMP electric water pumps have the ability to read external temperature sensors and control speed based on this input. They are also able to broadcast temperatures to the vehicle via SAE J1939 CAN.
The motor, electronics, and fluid design have been optimized for high efficiency. The end result is the highest possible flow and pressure for a given amount of input power. The design is also packaged to have as small a footprint as possible for the given pump performance and minimize sound output.
EMP water pumps are validated to withstand all field conditions including thermal cycles, salt spray, pressure wash, thermal shock, vibration and shock, electrical transients, ESD, reverse battery and more. Durability testing has surpassed 23,000 hours of continuous operation at maximum speed and operating temperature.
EMP has been producing the brushless electric water pumps since 2006. They have achieved in excess of 30,000 hours of life in demanding continuous applications.
